Shōgun

Genre: Drama; Historical; Action-Adventure

From the studio behind American Horror story, Sons of Anarchy and The Bear, comes an original adaptation of James Clavell’s novel, Shōgun. Set at the dawn of a century-defining civil war, Shōgun is already breaking records - with the premiere episodes reaching a staggering nine million views.

Set in 17th-Century Japan and described by some as Game of Thrones meets House of Cards, the show tells the gripping story of war, power, and secrets against a stunning visual backdrop.

Starring Cosmo Jarvis, Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada, viewers can expect the full FX production and a cultural explosion on their screens.

So, what's Shōgun about?

When a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a fishing village, its English pilot, John Blackthorne, played by Cosmo Jarvis, comes bearing secrets that could help Lord Toranaga tip the scales of power and devastate his enemies.

Meanwhile, while serving her lord, Mariko must balance her newfound companionship with Blackthorne, her commitment to the faith that saved her and her duty to her late father.

New episodes of Shōgun debut every Tuesday, exclusively on Disney+.

Poor Things

Genre: Science Fiction; Comedy

Coming in hot on the back of an epic awards season, including two big wins at this year's Oscars (Best Actress and Best Costume Design), Poor Things is one of the most talked about movies of the past 12 months.

Filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, whose previous work includes The Favourite and The Lobster, and star and producer Emma Stone have delivered nothing short of a fantastical and steampunk-retro-futurist masterpiece.

After being brought back from the brink of death by the brilliant, daring scientist Dr Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe), Bella Baxter (Emma Stone) is hungry for the worldliness she lacks. Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn, a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents.

"Wildly imaginative and exhilaratingly over the top, Poor Things is a bizarre, brilliant tour de force for director Yorgos Lanthimos and star Emma Stone." - Rotten Tomatoes
"Lanthimos' finest film so far, a strange, gorgeous-looking picture that extends generosity both to its characters and the audience" - TIME

Renegade Nell

Genre: Action; Fantasy Adventure

When Nell Jackson (Don't call her Nelly - she hates that!) and her sisters are forced on the run, a series of supernatural and action-packed events unfold. After being framed for murder, Nell, played by Louisa Harland of the hit series Derry Girls, must find someone who will listen to her story and ascertain her innocence.

Enter Billy Blind, part pixie, part mystical creature. He gives Nell fighting superpowers, allowing her to take on anyone and anything that stands in her way.

Along the way, Nell quickly discovers that her quest for justice stretches further than she ever imagined and that to clear her name, she first has to save the country.

Renegade Nell is now streaming exclusively on Disney+

Grey’s Anatomy

Genre: Medical; Drama

After a cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers, fans of the high-intensity medical drama Grey's Anatomy were left biting their nails in anticipation after the season 19 finale. The good news is the wait is over as the staff of Grey Sloan Memorial return for the show's new season.

The team of doctors face life-or-death decisions on a daily basis and continue to seek comfort from one another and, at times, more than just friendship. Together, they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white.
